Oh hai Hai Oh!

View from the view finder<3

So the stars blessed me with a really unusual morning whereby I had free breakfast and the person who treated me was my dad. After wracking my brains to come up with a conversation topic, I told him about my recent fascination with lomography and  toy cameras. I mentioned how cute the blackbird fly -the twin reflex camera is and how I am about to get the 'build your own twin reflex camera kit' this Sunday because I had no budget for the blackbird fly and even then, I will still be over budget by 3.8SGD as I only had 50SGD to spare.

He gave me a really stunned look and went something like 'but the lens is plastic... Why play with a plastic lens when you can play with glass?' At first, I was like 'right. glass. I can't even afford a proper meal and you want me to get a twin reflex camera that has glass lens.'

When we went back home, I swear the gods must be crazy.

Hello hai oh(: {Seagull}

8D CHIO CHIO Camera<333

So apparently, we had this antique twin reflex camera sitting in the dry box with GLASS lens and two filters<3333
Thing is, this camera is so old that even the brand name is printed in Chinese! Its even older than me but works perfectly and won quite a few photo awards back in the 80s!

With the magnifying glass<3

Focusing for this camera is really challenging as it works a bit like a rangefinder but instead of the awesome Leica, this one has a circle and we are suppose to match the tiny image together. Think: Bloody difficult to focus. The image is also inverted so for those who been to my house, you should find the above images really strange(: It is going to take some time to get used to but it should be really fun!

After playing with the camera, it was film hunting time(: I had heard of the notorious 120 film but I never knew it would be that rare>.> But I managed to stumble on a shop near the Cathay that sells them.

This roll of film cost me 6.90SGD T_____T The best part is, I can only take 12 shots with this film *stabs self* Thats like more than 2 bucks per image T___T I have not even included the developing fee...
But the lady who sold the film to me was really nice:3 She was like 'ya film these days are really expensive' so she gave me this book for lomography idiots:

I love her for poisoning me with the diana mini that is listed as one of her products<333 Thank god that camera is out of stock as she quoted me 160SGD for the entire set...
Looks like I will not be venturing into lomography any time soon as I have the Hai Oh and the Hasselblad to keep my hands full<3

To end off my shopping trip, I went down to Popular to get some mounting boards. I saw pink, yellow, blue, red and many other different coloured mounting boards! Some in which I have not seen it in Popular before. But where the hell are the black mounting board!!! They have so many other colours but none is in black... So instead of the black mounting board, I got myself a well deserved book instead(:

I swear it has been months since I treated myself to something good and I had been looking at this book for ages! It was a tough choice between 'the kite runner' and 'a thousand splendid suns' but since I am really bias towards women, I decided to get a book on women instead 8D
It has been a while since I had the extra cash to buy anything but things are looking up as I manage to thin my clothes so my meals for the next semester should be kind of set as long as I don't lose my job yet.

Besides the lovely shopping trip, I managed to take some time off and used four hours to edit the six photos for the competition and they are looking really good 8D
However, I am still hesitating to submit the one on 'children at play' as it still looks like a documentary snap shot than children playing to me>.< Perhaps I should just submit three still life shots>.>

Ah wells. All in all, it has been a really happy Monday and Tuesday so lets hope that my sales would go through making an even happier Wednesday(:
