After the rain~

Monogamy. To me, this word seems to be thrown out of the window for the current generation. Then again, when was this word ever put into practice for the Chinese culture? For those residing overseas, recently a really popular Singaporean film maker has done what Tiger Woods did just that he tried to hit on young woman instead of older ones. Google Jack Neo if you guys are really interested.

Even as I trace my roots back to China, the Chinese Emperors never practiced monogamy. He has hundreds of women at his beck and call and he never stays loyal to one. There seems to be a 'I can do what I want outside as long as I do not bring it back home' mindset in most married guys. And this mindset has been kept alive for generations. Passed down from father to son, the female child is always the one who suffers.

Behind every successful man lies a harem of woman but does the success of a man really depend on the number of mistress he can afford to keep? Whatever happened to donating the money to Africa?

Men in Asia would kill themselves if they are unable to provide/ put food on the table for their families but not when they break the vow of monogamy. While the women are just expected to forgive their husbands as they 'love' their family. In fact, the women always takes the blame for a sour relationship as they did not 'close their eyes.'
There is a Chinese saying ' jia chou bu ke wai yang' -keep the ugly things at home direct translation  which means although the poor woman is suffering, no one must know and she just have to forgive and forget.

I long concluded that love is blind and in this case, the wife of the film maker forgave him as she 'loves' her family. However to me, this is not love. This is just plain dependency and a showcase of how weak she is being unable to live without her husband. She is an embarrassment to all females as she is sending out the message to guys that they can do whatever they want as ultimately the woman will put her family as the first priority and forgive them.

Which is why I never fail to remind myself to never depend or trust guys with the exception of the nine of them. Especially those who are born in the year of the rat as they are never there when you need them and you are expected to forgive and forget if anything goes wrong.  Why depend on someone else and make your life miserable? Love is just a weed to give you temporary happiness. Ultimately, Just depend on yourself and end everything perfectly.
The irony is he could actually laugh at the film maker for being so stupid when he is just as screwed.

Life. move on.
