The past few days for me has been incredibly hectic, busy and insane for me. In fact, I should be doing my work right now but I think it is about time I sat down and reflected before I get too burn out.
Besides, who actually have the time to read some 7 updates a week>.<
So, I am working from 6-12am right now while my morning class, colors and light starts at 9am. Colors and light is pretty interesting
Oh and finally, the last of my 'upgraded' workflow would be my Bamboo Fun. I was torn between getting the Intous 4 and the Bamboo as the Intuos was so pretty
Box opening for the Bamboo 8D
Hihi Bamboo fun 8D
A black box :3
Welcome message of 12 languages. I know about 7. Including Chinese
Its sliver. I wished it was black like the Intous was T_T
Hello new friend:3
I did not really regret buying the Bamboo although I would probably have to torture myself for the next 2 months or so. As much as I would love the Intous 4, I love the price tag that it came with and I probably do not need something that high end so ah wells(:
I did a short shoot with Juliet last Wednesday and I explored a monochrome theme. I am pretty happy with the results as this was those kind of shoots whereby I just shoot for the sake of holding a camera and without a single idea in mind. However, I got caught up in the styling and lighting then tadah~ something fabulous happens. I used the really cute miniature reflector in this shoot and I liked the results! I shall post more shots but I just have to clear some 700+ images before I work on this shoot T_T
On Thursday, I went down with M to Clarke Quay and listened to a live performance.I am not stuck up!!! I really miss those times whereby Jean was in Singapore and we had live music every week! Anyways, it has been a while since I listened to such music so I am really glad! Then, came the World Cup aired and the music had to stop T_T
Coming on to the world cup, The recent LFI newsletter was hilarious! They are promoting some photojournalist who documented the World Cup and they just had to add something about the climatic match between Germany and England: 'As the saying goes, the ball is always round and the Germans will always win the game.' Epic!
And for those who are wondering, no. I do not watch football as 22 men chasing after a ball does not really interest me. Besides, the last time I did watch the world cup was like 8 years ago? Whereby Pete dragged all of us to support Brazil and we had to wear yellow... That was about as much experience I have with football.
On Friday, I did my first studio lighting with a human model and I failed terribly. It was so embarrassing as I just could not get the lights right. So the poor model was probably blinded by my flashes. Which was really puzzling as I did not understand why the ratio of my lights were so off. I will probably do better ifI was shooting a girl and did not have to shoot under a time constrain. I will do better.
Then came Saturday. After a really 'fun' Apel session, I had my first videochild exploitation/ child labour job. I went down to ACJC and was really surprised to see two of my old friends performing! They were fabulous and did a great job for their performance!
I had to help set up thebloody heavy equipments and as you can see, my dad and I worked with 3 cameras.
This is the camera I handled. It is a handy cam. With a lot of additionalarmor equipments on it. My 'job' is pretty easy:3 As all I did was handle the panning and manually adjusted the exposure and focus. The tripod I used was pretty easy to handle as well so I did not really encounter any heart attack moments.
The 2nd camera captures straight to the computer using an e. sata wire. That wire was crazy! It handles a 3GB per second transfer rate! I was like O.o Just a note, my firewire handles 500MB per second so if I compare it to that wire....
Other equipment we used:
All in all, this pretty much sums up my insane week. I feel like I am just killing myself>.>
Like tips on how to kill yourself/ die early:
1) Study in a design school with lots of projects.
2) Do lots of external and self projects
3) Pick up randomchild exploitation jobs
4) Have some 700 images to clearthank god for my awesome workflow
5) Get a part time job and work from 6-12am with lessons at 9am the next day.
Yayness.

Other equipment we used:
The 3rd camera which my father used.
Its really huge and heavy>.<
The extra cameras 8D
The very expensive voice recorder...
Cutest mike ever. Its like some 2cm long.
The amount of setting up and wires which ran all over the place just drives me nuts>.< Thank god you do not need to deal with this in photos.
I had to shoot 3 performance and my job is to take a full length view of the performers and follow their movements on stage.
Video is a little more relaxing than photo well at least it is for my first time. I only got like a 10 miniutes 'training' before the performance started whereby all I got was how to adjust the exposure and how I should always remember my rule of thirds -.- I was so afraid of screwing up for the first performance that I played safe and followed every single rule I know. I had no idea how to shoot or how to work the camera. As easy as it may sound of 'just follow the performer', when it came to like some 5 people on stage, I had no idea what to do and really panicked. I don't know which button zooms in and which one zooms out so it was a nightmare.
Thank god I stayed clam and told myself to screw the rules and don't be afraid. In the end I guess my dad is pretty happy with what I captured for the second and third performance(:
