Heidi is back~~~~

After tuning the color
Okay. She returned to me from Alle on a Saturday and I had no time to post her random snapshots up till now.
I am pretty happy with the faceup with the exception that the blushing is really light T_T
I mean I can retouch it in photoshop but it is a lot of trouble... So under a direct/ diffused light, she looks really pale T_T

Direct from my S90

She looks so pale T_T
Perhaps I am really used to looking at images whereby the doll is close to an overblush or in Chiriko's case, apple that I am not used to looking at 'natural' faceups... In fact, I just asked him to repaint Juliet because of that fact >.>

I was actually looking at this kind of style for a tiny:

After retouching.
I overdid the eyes a little but I was really hoping he went crazy with the blush T_T
Ah wells.

I shot for Red Cross on Saturday as well and I have a mixed feelings for that shoot.

In a way if you are counting events whereby I need to submit my images, this would be the 4th+?
I shot with a story in mind. In this case, to capture the mood of the people attending the miniature carnival. I was pretty disappointed with my images in a sense that I underestimated the power my 35mm's F2 aperture. So important looking things like people in the background looks like traffic lights and it just loses its impact when it is not sharp T_T
I had dealt with this problem of my refusal to open up my aperture during YOG but it seems that I happily buried it within the pages of my journal...
Composition wise, I felt that I could have gone closer. There were many shots whereby the story is there but I am just not close enough resulting in a crop for my images.
I had been cropping quite a bit for YOG with the excuse that my 70-200mm on a full frame body is not long enough or following David duChemin's sermon of cropping the image for aesthetics. However, I really do not want to allow myself to keep up with this cropping habit. I will go closer!!!!
Images from the shoot will be up on my photoblog soon so give me your comments on them!

The 'not so negative' side of this event would be that I am much more confident as compared to the last time I shot that bastard doctor for that medical event.
Being all artsy-fartsy aside, I think it is time to let the geek side of me have a little more control as the artist is running really wild. I mean F2 is great but there are a lot more other apertures in my camera besides F2 and F8>.>
In conclusion, I will go closer and shoot more.

Anyways besides showing off little Heidi and reflecting on the Red Cross shoot, the main reason for this random post in the afternoon is that I had been talking and mulling over the IFC choir. Mainly because I was afraid of emailing/ getting a confirmation from them as I had no idea how to go about shooting a choir.
60+ people standing in a curve in front of a conductor in an air-condition room doing warm-ups and singing. Not exactly the easiest story to tell>.>
However, I just received an email from the CHAIRMAN of the choir.....
Its pretty much official and I got to make it work somehow as there is no turning back now.

So here's to the news that I will almost (this will be finalized by next week) be the choir's official photographer!
So I have a really exciting task at hand of turning something organized into something disorganized>.<
I will get there without any crop!
