Almost heaven.

Before I start on a proper post, I just want to brag share my thoughts on the image above(:
Singapore has one of the highest rate of lightning storms in the world and its pretty weird that I do not have a single shot of a lightning given that I am almost always in this country.

Thus on a stormy Thursday evening, I decided to capture a lightning bolt and it was so bloody hard. The image above is the 127th shot out of 1295 frames or approximately 5.5GB in high res JPEC within half and hour. Was really tempted to shoot RAW.
There are probably several ways to shoot lightning and one of them include spamming your shutter like crazy in order to capture it because I do not have a stable tripod...
Its a little off composition wise but now I know that chasing lightning is not my cup of tea.

I mentioned in my last post that I was skipping Matthew Tan's seminar to shoot the TP band concert on the 26th of November (Friday). Well it turns out the IFC concert was on the 26th of November and not next week! Imagine my horror when I read an email on Thursday that went 'See you tomorrow' O.o It completely slipped my mind!
So after a big mess , I went down to NAFA to shoot for the IFC.
I lugged the 24-70mm, 35mm, 70-200mm, 5D, 550D, speedlite 580 II, extra batteries, accessories,  a bloody unstable tripod along with my Lowepro mini haversack and Billingham.
My back was screaming mercy throughout the shoot. Van was right. I need a slave photo assistant T_T
Then again, the shoot yesterday was like a closure to the 1ish month I spent with the choir and I had so much fun! This shoot really relighted (if there is such a word) the flame I had for music and I can't wait to join the choir next season! Just as A once said to me, 'don't sing for the competitions. Sing because you love music.'
After the concert I headed down to Wild Oats? with some of the members.
We sang and discussed random topics when I asked them about languages. Given that I was the only Singaporean in that group, I was really curious as to how some of them adapted to 'Singlish'

Weird slangs and accents aside, one of them commented that we are very bad at grammar on a whole. yessu I am one of the guilty ones. One prime example she gave was that we have a 'Speak Good English Campaign' going on for like an eternity. And apparently, you can't 'speak GOOD English'. The correct way to phrase it should be 'Speak English WELL' When I heard that, it was a picture of 'embarrassment.jpec'

Randomly throwing up images aside, I updated my photoblog!!! Yessu! Its alive!
I re-edited the entire shoot from Thaipusam and selected 25 out of 200 odd frames. I can't believe that my editing was that bad some few months back. The editing for the images were horrendous and I can't believe I posted them online>.> The black and white version for the set is up at the LFI Gallery
Thank the stars I kept the RAW file as I would just bang my head against the wall if I shot this set in JPEC.
Looking back at my images, there are so many things which I can improve on and I can't wait for next year's Thaipusam!

On a really random note, I received my first Christmas present from Z!
Early much?

Yessu Its from Muchas! One of my favorite brand!
Its so pretty!
Thanks Z<333
