Of Artist and Of Geeks.

Luna *falls in love again*
As usual, its been a while since I blogged and here I am faced with the 'I have so many things to say but I have no idea where to begin' syndrome.

Just a few weeks ago, S dropped me a mail and shared with me about his new life as a full-time painter. He touched on an issue which is pretty close to my heart for I face the same problem as he does.
How do you balance the geek and the artist within you?
I know of some people who have in born talents that they are able to shoot or design without thinking and it still looks gorgeous while for the rest of us, we simply do not have that special ability which is where the 'Geek' side of our mind comes to play.

The Geek side would be drumming on rules, technicality, gear and basically all things geekish while the artist is there screaming 'FREE YOUR SOUL!!!!'
For S, this trouble mainly appears when he is trying to put the finishing touches on his painting which is similar to mine as this 'epic war' between the geeks and the artist is at its climax when I am doing post production for my images.
Take the first photo for example. I edited it 3 times before I told myself to stop changing everything. Why?
Because the geeks are screaming: 'THE DAMM FACE IS OVER-EXPOSED LOOK AT THE DAMM HISTOGRAM. THE COLOUR IS OUT OF WHACK! RETUNE!'
While the artist puts on their ear muffs as they like the 'angelic' feel of the image that with Luna, the world is always beautiful.

So its like the artist goes : We are sticking to this feeling!!!
While the geek retorts: But its wrong! Your highlights are blown and your skin color is just wrong!

If you thought the Luna's photo was bad, Juliet's photo (the 2nd one) really takes the cake as I had some 7 variations of it at peak. I was brushing and re brushing the lighting, tuning the color and basically doing every single thing geekish when the artist comes and redos everything.

And the war rages on>.>
I am trying to listen more to the artist side of me! After all as coined by David duChemin 'No one resonates with sterile art.'

Ah wells. I finally got that out of my head!
I would be pretty busy due to the YOG period and it does not help that almost everything given by the organizers are either unconfirmed, unaccessible or just plainly have fun and good luck finding them!
Not to mention, the venues are kind of located at the ends of Singapore so traveling there without a car someone to send me is a horrendous journey. Then again, I guess I do need the time to reflect so it must be a blessing in disguise 8D

Yesterday marks my 5th session with the chiropractor and I would love to announce that I am officially cured but I am not T_T
It was pretty funny during the shock treatment part.

Chiropractor: So would you like me to put the cups (to deliver the electricity) at the area which has the most pain.

Me: err...

Chiropractor: *touch my back* Never mind I think your entire back is in pain. *Puts ALL 8 cups on my back*

T_T

The thing is at the part where the pain is at its peak,  I can't even feel the electricity >.<

Ah wells. Life of the poor with a backache. Move on T_T

Can I have more clothing please? :3
*shoots self*
