On Saturday, I had absolutely no intention of shooting at the Chingay Parade. Even if I did, all I wanted was a few shots after which, I would join K and the others for dinner. However, when I got to the parade, I got so carried away that I spent two and a half hours looking for a media pass before I manage to shoot anything decent! Many thanks to Usagi, CITA and two others whose name I can't remember! Without their help, I would have never been able to get into the performer's area to shoot! Although the 'cosplay ambassador media pass' was like a piece of photocopied paper, a pass is still a pass and I managed to get in 8D
However, even after I got in, the police had a lot of fun chasing me away as I am always too close to the performers while the other 'official' photographers were happily standing really far away zooming to get their shots>.>
Two pictures for now~

Overall, the Chingay was a really interesting but tough shoot>.> As I never had the intention of shooting an event that day thus I only bought my 17-35mm and 100mm. Thank god for the 100mm's F2.8!!! I just died with the 35mm's F4>.< The lighting condition there was really really bad so I pushed my ISO to 3200. Surprisingly, the noise seems to be rather decent. I stuck with my 35mm for about the whole event and I only used the 100mm for about half an hour. The 35mm is very very challenging!!! Think crazy person running in front of the performers while they are about to walk then getting chased off by the police 8D
I was really playful on that day but the verdict for my shots is that.... It is not close enough *stabs self*
Work on Sunday was fabulous as there was no Internet connection which made me so bored that I went and styled like half the dolls in the shop... Most of them were females 8D I gave up on the males already>.>
As for today, it is the start of a new module! Applied illustration. It sounds really really tough>.< But I made it through my painting so how bad can this be:3
Juliet is finally home today~~~ However, I am very disappointed with Alison's faceup... It looks like a rushed job to me... One of the eyelashes came out during the shipping and I can't find it>.> So I took out the other one making Juliet eyelashes-less right now. The only thing that I cannot complain would be the eyebrows(: She does such beautiful eyebrows!!! Kiyomi's faceup is gorgeous but I do not have a suitable wig for her so she is looking rather odd at the moment.
After shooting Chiriko for like months, I am really glad that my big girls are home which resulted in a random photoshoot. The styling is horrible as I am missing my details but other than that, I kind of like the mood I took. This shoot is most definitely an improvement from when I worked with White Cinde. Once again, whenever I start to get decent shots, the sun starts to set... So I had to push my ISO making it really noisy>.<
For today, I worked with the ultimate portrait lens -135mm and it was so bloody hard>.>
As I had to stand like 1m away from my dolls when I shoot. This means that once the wind blows and mess up their hair, I would have absolutely no idea... BUT the lens is so frigging sharp making it really fabulous!!! Top it off with the wonders of F2<333
So the next few shots would be a preview on what I have swimming in my mind/ am working on.
Kiyomi is wearing 16mm black enchanted doll urethane eyes, DUCK blond wig, Monestone design necklace, Soda's Cattleya, Volks Emma boots with a faceup from Cianteka.
She needs different wig and a head dress...
Juliet is wearing 16mm Volks HG Olivia Morgan's default blue glass eyes, blond josephina wig, Monestone design necklace, Soom's Cass Ocean Elf dress and shoes with a faceup from Marison/ Alison Sky.
She needs eyelashes, a shawl and a headress.
2nd shot. Could have gone lower.
The house of blonds 8D
I took so long to get this shot as it is so difficult to get everything right>.>
It is still not perfect as Chiriko and Juliet are like looking at god knows what...
Ah wells. I am really looking forward to start the shoot for my girls but I have to work on my people shots before starting anything>.> Yayness.
